FALL HUNTER PACE

• First team out at 10:00 a.m.
• Last team out at 12:00 noon

FALL HUNTER TRIALS

Starting at 1:00 PM

• First Flight division jumps not to exceed 3’
• Second Flight division, jumps not to exceed 2’3”

DIRECTIONS:  

From Lexington & further North:  I-81 South to Exit 188.  Go West on Route 60 (toward Lexington).  You’ll go straight through one traffic light.  Get in left lane.  You’ll go under a road and immediately turn left onto Route 11 Bypass going South.  At the next light, stay straight.  Route 11 will turn left but stay straight on Route 251 toward Collierstown.  From the light you’ll go about five miles.  Cross a bridge over Buffalo Creek and immediately turn left on Cedar Hill Church Road (Route 675).  Go 1 mile.  At “T” intersection (no stop sign), turn right onto Zollmans Mill Road.  This road ends at Broadview Ranch.  Follow signs for parking.

From Natural Bridge & further South:  I-81 North to Exit 180.  Go North on Route 11 about 7 or 8 miles.  At the traffic light, turn left onto Route 251 toward Collierstown.  Follow above directions.

Caution!  Internet directions may take you over roads unsuitable for horse trailers.

HUNTER PACE DIVISIONS:

• Hunter Optimum – The course will be approximately 7 -- 9 miles over rolling terrain with jumps 3 feet in height or less.  The pace should simulate a typical day of hunting with Rockbridge Hunt in first flight.
• Hilltoppers – The course will be the same as Hunter Optimum with gates or go-a-rounds.  The pace should be slightly slower than Hunter Optimum.
• Trail – The course will be approximately 5 miles.  This should be a relaxed, fairly slow ride.

HUNTER PACE TEAMS  will consist of two riders.  Three entries may ride together but only two will be timed and eligible for ribbons/or awards.  Un-judged riders must also pay an entry fee.  Junior riders age 12 (twelve) and under must be accompanied by an adult entry on horseback.

HUNTER PACE RIBBONS will be awarded for 1st – 6th place.

HUNTER PACE ENTRY FEES:

•  Adult rider (Over 18) - $30 per horse
• Junior rider (Under 18)-$20 per horse

LUNCH is NOT included in the entry fee.  A catering truck will be on the grounds.

HUNTER PACE START TIMES:  First team will start on the course at 10:00 AM.  Last team on course will start no later than 12:00 Noon. 

WINNING TIME:  To be set by a member(s) of Rockbridge Hunt riding the course.  The winning times will be announced after final times are tabulated.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Virginia State law requires a current negative coggins test be provided for inspection.  Coggins will be asked for.
• Safety helmets or hard hats are required for all jumping entries.
• Every participant must register and sign a waiver of liability before being mounted.  Parent/Guardian must sign for entries under age 18.
• No dogs permitted without being on leash.
