Rockbridge Hunt: Foxhunting 101


If you’re interested in learning more about traditional mounted foxhunting, join us for a (horseless) introductory program - Foxhunting 101 on Saturday, August 16 at 2:00 PM. We expect this program to take about two hours and hope to conclude with a kennel tour.

We’ll cover the following topics:
1) Introduction to mounted foxhunting - Who’s who and what’s what
2) Attire - Right, wrong, traditional, acceptable, correct and why
3) The horse - Choosing, training, care and feeding of the fieldhunter
4) Territory - The nature of the territory influences the hunting
5) Hounds and Quarry - Common myths and misconceptions
