English, Western, Gaited, Trail, Pleasure, Event and Walking Horse riders are welcome!Pairs will follow well-marked courses through beautiful hunting territory.
Special added attraction:
A Series Championship will be awarded in the Hunter Optimum Division at the end of the series. To be eligible for the Championship, the same pair of riders must compete (and complete the course!) in the same division in at least 2 of the 3 paces. Junior riders are eligible to enter the Series division at each pace. You do not have to be a member of a recognized hunt to participate in the Series!Awards: The series championship will be determined by the pair accumulating the most points in the series. The pair earning the most points will be awarded Championship ribbons and trophies. The pair earning second highest points will be awarded Reserve Championship ribbons. Presentations will be made immediately following the last hunter pace of the series.
Virginia law requires a current negative Coggins test certificate be available for inspection. Conditions
All participants (and parents/guardians of those under age 18) must sign a liability release.
Riders do not need to be members of a hunt club.
Riders may enter any of the paces without participating in the series.

Hunter Optimum - Series
Hilltoppers
Trail Riders
Junior OptimumCourse: Hunter and Junior Optimum pairs to ride a marked course, setting a safe hunting pace as if following fox hounds. Distance - 7 plus miles.
Jumps - not to exceed 3' and include natural obstacles as encountered in a day of foxhunting.
Hilltopping and Trail Riding pairs will follow the same course with "go-arounds" at each jump.
The course will be well-flagged and easy to follow. There will be checkpoints. Tokens must be picked up at the check points and turned in at the finish line to qualify for awards and ribbons. The ideal time for each division will be announced after the last pair returns.
Lunch will be served from 12:30 to 4 PM. Cost to nonriders is $10.
Hard hats or helmets are required for all riders that are jumping.Awards will be presented after all qualifying pairs have clocked in. To qualify, pairs need to clock in at the finish line by 4:00 PM.

Directions: Coming from I-81, Lexington, take exit 225 to Route 275 (Woodrow Wilson Parkway) West (left turn, third Staunton exit). Go to light, go through the intersection to the blinking light (Spring Hill Road or Route 613). Turn left and watch for signs. Turn left at Woodlee Road (about Staunton City limits) and watch for signs.
If coming from the North (Harrisonburg) bear right on the first Staunton exit (Route 275 - Woodrow Wilson Parkway) and follow the above directions.
If coming from I-64, take I-81 north, then follow the above directions.

Trail Riders (Western and English)Course: Pairs to ride a marked course. Pace for the Hunter Optimum division will be set by averaging two rides the preceding day by Oak Ridge Fox Hunt Club staff members.
Distance - about 3 miles.
Jumps - Hunter Optimum and Fast Time divisions will include natural obstacles as encountered in a day of foxhunting and jumps will not exceed 3’6".
Time: Pairs will start on course at 9:00 AM; last pair will start on course at 12:30 PM. Awards: Prizes and ribbons to top 5 finishers in each division. Awards will be presented for the Best Turned Out pair, the Best Matched team, Youngest Rider, and more. Directions: (All mileage is very approximate.)
From I-64 take the Afton exit (exit 99) and turn right onto Route 250 East. At the bottom of the mountain, turn right onto Route 151.
After about eight miles on Route 151 you’ll see Ashley’s store on your right (it’s a white convenience store). Slow down. About fifty yards from Ashley’s store you’ll turn left onto Route 635.
After one mile on Route 635, turn left into Tea-Time Farm. You’ll see the white run-in shed on your left. Park in the open field across from the run-in shed.

Hunter Optimum - Series
Hilltopper
TrailCourse covers hunting territory and will include natural obstacles as encountered in a day of foxhunting.
For Hunter Optimum and Hilltopper divisions the course is 7 to 10 miles long.
The course for the Trail division will be slight shorter, about 5 miles long.
Jumps are optional; there will be a way to go around all jumps.
Pace for Hunter Optimum division will be set by members of the Rockbridge Hunt Staff riding the course, about 8 miles per hour.
Pace for Hilltopper division will be slightly slower.
Pace for Trail division will be about 5 miles per hour.
Helmets or hard hats are required for all riders that are jumping.Start times: The first team will start at 11:00 AM. The last team will start no later than 1:00 PM.
Lunch will be served outdoors from 12:30 to 3:00 p.m.Information:

$5 for lunch for nonriders.Directions: From Interstate 81 take Exit 180 (one of two Natural Bridge exits) and go north on Route 11 (Lee Highway) for about two miles. Turn left on Fox Hunt Road (Route 739). When the road forks, stay to the left on Fox Hunt Road. Take the next possible right turn (Harkto Loop) into the parking lot.
