Fall Hunter Pace 2001Another New Course!

Series Hunter Optimum
Non-Series Hunter Optimum
Hilltopper
PleasureLunch will be provided.
This is the first of two hunter paces in the Adjacent Pace Series. Champion & Reserve will be awarded for Best of Series.
Requirements:
Helmets or hunt caps are required for jumping.
Virginia state law requires a current negative coggins test certificate be available for inspection.
All participants must register and sign a waiver of liability. (You may wish to print the PDF version of the Rockbridge Hunt Waiver.) Parent or guardian must sign for entrants under 18 years of age.Entry fees (includes lunch):
$30 per horse / adult rider combination
$20 per horse / junior rider (under 18)
$5 for lunch for non-ridersDirections: From I-81, take exit 180, (one of two Natural Bridge exits) and go north on Rt. 11 for about 1.3 miles. Turn right on Falling Spring Road (Rt 680). After about 1.3 miles turn left on Montafon Lane. Drive to end.
Awards: Ribbons awarded for first to sixth places, with two ribbons per team. In addition, trophies will be awarded for first place teams in all divisions. The series championship goes to the team with the most points in optimum division at Rockbridge and Glenmore paces.
Teams: Teams will consist of two riders. (Three entries may ride together but only two will be timed and eligible for awards. Un-judged riders must also pay entry fee.) Juniors under the age of twelve must be accompanied by an adult entry on horseback.
Descriptions of the divisions
Series Optimum division: The course will be about 10 miles over rolling terrain with many mandatory jumps. Most of the jumps will be coops, three feet or less in height. The pace should simulate a day of hunting and will average about 7-8 miles per hour.Non-Series Optimum division: The course will be the same as series optimum but with optional jumps and gates near all jumps. Pace 7-8 miles per hour.
Hilltopper division: The course will be about 10 miles over rolling terrain. Jumps are optional. The pace will average about 6 miles per hour.
Pleasure division: The course will be about 5 miles over rolling terrain with no jumps. The pace will average about 4 miles per hour.
If entries warrant, divisions will be split.Winning Time for the Optimum division will be set by members of the Rockbridge Hunt staff riding the course and will be announced after the last entries finish.
Start times: The first team will start at 11:00 a.m. The last team will start no later than 1:00 p.m.
Lunch will be served from 12:30 to 3:00.
Attire: Ratcatcher or show attire requested. Ribbon awarded for best turned-out team.
